Letter to the people of Eugowra and Canowindra Parishes
7th December 2012
To the people of Eugowra and Canowindra Parishes
Dear Friends in Christ,
With you, I thank God for the great work that Father Joe Dooley has done as your Parish Priest over many years. He has been a true presence of Christ the Good Shepherd. We wish him every blessing after he retires as Parish Priest on 31st December 2012 and we hope that he enjoys years of good health and continued priestly ministry.
From 1st January 2013, Father Laurie Beath, in addition to his responsibilities as Parish Priest of Cowra, will become Administrator of the Parishes of Canowindra and Eugowra.
With the assistance of Father Michael Hickey CP and other priests of the Diocese, Father Laurie should be able to keep up the current frequency of the celebration of Mass in all centres. I am sure that you will give him all the support he will need for this extra work he has generously agreed to do.
These arrangements will be reviewed once we know the future of the Diocese of Wilcannna-Forbes.
With every good wish.
Sincerely yours in Christ.

Bishop of Bathurst
