Bishop appoints new Diocesan Financial Administrator
Bishop Michael McKenna has announced the appointment of Mr Patrick Cooper as Diocesan Financial Administrator, effective Monday 20th May 2013.
Mr Cooper will take over the position from Mr Hugh O’Reilly, who will continue working to guide the transition until July.
The Bishop took the opportunity to give thanks for Mr O’Reilly’s sterling service over the past quarter century.
“Hugh has been, not only a sound administrator of the temporal goods of the local Church, but,for Bishop Dougherty, Father Pat O’Regan and me, a valued confidant in our responsibilities. I know that many priests and others who labour in our local Church would say the same”.
Patrick will be known to many people in the Diocese. His parents currently live in Dubbo and Patrick, his wife Suzanne and their family lived in Bathurst for many years. More recently, Patrick has been based in Port Macquarie, working in Senior Management roles in the Energy sector.
Bishop McKenna said “I am sure that Patrick can count on the support of all of us as he begins this important work”.
