Catholic Church releases child sexual abuse reform proposals
The leadership of the Catholic Church in Australia has endorsed the development of a reform agenda which could see the most significant overhaul of the Church’s approach to clerical sexual abuse in its more than 200-year history in Australia.

September 17th 2013 - Royal Commission Timetable Set

Counsel assisting the Royal Commission into institutional responses to child sexual abuse, Gail Furness, has laid out the timetable for public hearings this year and early next year with the Catholic Church’s Towards Healing likely to be examined in December.

September 15th 2013 - Royal Commission begins Public Hearings
The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse has announced the matters to be investigated in the three remaining public hearings in 2013.  The announcement was made at the opening of the first public hearing in Sydney.

Counsel Assisting Ms Gail Furness SC, advised that the YMCA, the Anglican Diocese of Grafton and the Towards Healing process by the Catholic Church would be examined in public hearings two, three and four respectively before the end of the year.
