Nuncio to celebrate Mass in Cathedral

The Apostolic Nuncio to Australia, Archbishop Paul Gallagher, will travel from Canberra to visit the Diocese of Bathurst from 28th June to 1st July.

The Nuncio represents the Holy Father, Pope Francis, to both the Commonwealth Government and the local Catholic church in Australia. While he is here, the Nuncio will have various opportunities to spend time with the clergy, religious and laity of the Diocese.

Sunday 29th June is the Solemnity of St. Peter and St. Paul and also the anniversary of the Dedication of the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. John in 1865. Archbishop Gallagher will be the principal celebrant at the Parish Mass in the Cathedral at 10.00am that day. Mass will be concelebrated by Bishop Michael McKenna, Dean of the Cathedral, Father Pat O'Regan and priests of the Cathedral Parish.

Following Mass, everyone is invited to an informal morning tea/sausage sizzle in the Cathedral School Hall, hosted by the Parish and organised by the Young Adults Group.
