Oz Rosary 2018

In October 2017, on the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, well over 1 million people gathered in Poland, around the Polish borders to pray the Rosary for the protection of their country and to intercede for their young people.

Ireland then followed suite with well over 30,000 people gathering at 53 venues around the country, many of them on coastal beaches and hills overlooking the ocean. The number 53 was chosen because there are 53 Hail Marys in the Rosary. Italy's coastal parishes also organised the Rosary along with England and France holding Rosary events on 28th and 29th April respectively.

Organisers in England had more than 60 groups volunteering to gather and pray on beaches, cliffs and in public places around the entire coast of the U.K.

In Australia, on Sunday 13th May, Fatima Day, groups around the country will hold our own national Rosary day. An organising committe from Sydney, under the patronage of Bishop David Cremin, have been busy organising the event since November last year. Already many groups have registered on the Oz Rosary Facebook site to participate in the event. One group will be gathering at Coogie overlooking the beach itself, while other rosary and prayer groups from Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales including Penrith, Canberra, Bathurst, Oberon, Greystanes, Cabramatta, and West Wyalong have registered to pray.

In Bathurst, the Rosary will be held on 12th May at 4.15pm at the Cathedral of St Michael and St John, Bathurst. Contact: Margaret Stevens 6331 7525.

Quo Vadis will also pray the Rosary for Oz Rosary on Sunday 13th May at 3 pm. Contact Anne Gilroy 0400 007 271. Address: 372 Gormans Hill Road, Bentley Park.

In Orange, St Joseph’s Church will be one of the locations of this nation-wide rosary, especially giving thanks for the incredible witness to our faith at the installation of the statue of Our Lady of Fatima on 13th October 2017. On Sunday 13th May at 3.30pm, there will be Holy Hour, including Rosary, the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Confessions, and Benediction.

If you or your group would like to participate or be one of the 53 site reigistered sites to pray the Rosary, please log on to Oz Rosary#53 Facebook page or contact Jane on 0476 535 595.
