Emergency situations in Syria and Iraq
Catholic Mission together with its local partner in Syria, Jesuit Refugee Service (Middle East North Africa) is concerned by the escalation of attacks on Aleppo and Damascus in the last few weeks. These indiscriminate attacks have largely targeting densely populated civilian areas. The level of violence in Damascus and Aleppo has reached unprecedented levels. Learn more HERE>
Similarly, the current situation in Iraq continues to decline with the advance of ISIS and the subsequent retaliation by Western forces. There are an estimated 1.8 million internally displaced Iraqis fleeing from violence. In September alone 1,946 children have been injured due to the conflict. See further details HERE>
