Bishop Michael speaks to students live via Facebook

In a first for the Catholic Diocese of Bathurst, Bishop Michael spoke to the students from across the Diocese via a Live Facebook event.

The purpose of the live event was to introduce the students to BLAST, the Diocesan youth faith formation weekend, planned for 20th-21st August at Ridgecrest, Lake Burrendong.

Year 6 - Year 9 students from schools from across the Diocese tuned in to listen to the message from Bishop Michael. Participants were able to comment about the event and let us know where they were watching from. It was wonderful to be able to interact with this students, with schools sending in photos of their classes watching Bishop Michael on the big screen.

Rory Thornhill is in Year 8 at James Sheahan Catholic High School, Orange. Rory said "On Tuesday 7th June, students from James Sheahan Catholic High School joined Bishop Michael McKenna in a Facebook Live event promoting the BLAST youth retreat. From the stream, we learned that BLAST is a fun filled weekend of faith, music and great food from past students and organisers"

"During the stream, we could interact by asking questions in the chat.We are all looking forward to going to BLAST because of the new opportunities to make friends from around the Bathurst Diocese", said Rory.
