Dear Friends in Christ,
Blessings and peace to everyone on this beautiful feast day, which this year we celebrate in time of tribulation.
Today turns our hearts to Mary’s “Yes”. Behold the servant of the Lord, let it be done to me according to your Word.
With that “Yes”, the Son of God entered our broken world, to make it whole from within.
We experience the brokenness of relations within creation today in this current pandemic.
We experience brokenness in our relations with God and one another, whenever selfishness and sin take hold.
Jesus comes to redeem all of creation, including our fragile hearts. Let’s say “Yes” to him today; and experience, in the forgiveness that he offers, the peace that only he can give.
This evening, at 10pm AEDST, Pope Francis has invited all Christians to pray the Lord’s Prayer with him, for God’s help in this crisis. I hope that, wherever you are, you would join in this moment of intercession. Mary our Mother and all the saints will be praying with us too.
