Plenary Council 2020 launches in our parish communities

St Patrick's Parish, Wellington
Cumnock and Yeoval parishioners at The Church of Our Lady, Yeoval
From August until mid-November, the Plenary Council candle and Our Lady of the Central West icon will travel around the Diocese as a means of launching Plenary Council discussions in each parish community.
Pope Francis has approved the Australian Bishops’ decision to hold a Plenary Council in Australia in 2020 and 2021. It is a significant moment for the Church in Australia to make decisions about the future.
To prepare the agenda for the Plenary Council, all of God’s people are invited to reflect on the question: “What do you think God is asking of us in Australia at this time?”
Find out more about the Plenary Council 2020 at www.plenarycouncil.catholic.org.au
It is encouraged to ask every group and activity in your parish to take the opportunity to pause and ask the question and provide feedback through the Plenary Council website. This is the chance for every member of our church community to have their say.
The presence of the candle and icon in parishes across the Diocese intends to promote discussion and provides an opportunity for parishes to gather members together to listen and dialogue as part of the Plenary Council process.
