We wish Fr Pius Khaoya all the very best in his upcoming Australian Citizenship ceremony.
Fr Pius is our Diocesan Priest in Charge for Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Coonamble. He was ordained for the Diocese of Eldoret/Kitale (now just Kitale) Kenya, by Rt Rev Cornelius Arap Korir Bishop of Eldoret, Kenya in 1991. In 2015, he undertook a sabbatical program at Marymount Mercy Centre, Castle Hill, Sydney for six months. Fr Khaoya first came to Bathurst in 2015 for a period of three months. He subsequently, under an agreement with Bishop Crowley of Kitale, came to work full time in the Diocese in October 2016, for a period of four years. Initially working at the Cathedral in Bathurst, he was appointed Assistant Priest, Orange from 2017 to 2020. Fr Pius continues to serve in the Diocese, now in Coonamble.
