DIOCESAN FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATOR
The Financial Administrator is an important ecclesiastical office in each Catholic diocese, with responsibilities concerning the financial, legal and administrative affairs of the local church. He or she is appointed by the Bishop, after conferring with his College of Consultors and Finance Council, for a five year term, which may be renewed.
For the past thirteen years, the Diocese of Bathurst has been blessed to have Mr Patrick Cooper bring his talents and faith to serve in this position. I am personally grateful for the opportunity to work closely with him. Mr Cooper has now begun to plan his retirement, which will take effect only once a successor has been chosen and been mentored to assure a seamless handover.
At that stage, there will be time to appropriately thank and honour the great contributions that Mr Cooper has made to the life of our Diocese. In the meantime, I ask your prayers for Patrick and his family; and the gift of wisdom for those charged with recruiting a successor.
