Bishop Michael McKenna has today announced that the Very Reverend Gregory Bellamy PP VF EV STL has been appointed to the staff of Good Shepherd Seminary, Homebush effective July 2026.

Father Bellamy, currently the Parish Priest of Orange and Molong Parishes, Vicar Forane and Episcopal Vicar for Evangelisation and Mission, will next year serve at the Seminary as Vice Rector.

In making the appointment Archbishop Anthony Fisher said he was grateful to Bishop McKenna and the Diocese of Bathurst “for releasing Father Bellamy for this very important work that benefits the sees and the future priests of the several dioceses and eparchies that entrust their seminarians to the Seminary of the Good Shepherd”. This of course includes our own Diocese, which will have four seminarians continuing studies at the Seminary next year.

Bishops are urged to make their most capable priests available for the work of formation. Bishop McKenna said “Although we shall be giving up the services of a highly valued priest, I believe that God will bless our generosity both directly and indirectly”.

The Bishop also asks everyone to keep Father Greg in their prayers and offer him support in the time ahead.
