The Catholic Diocese of Bathurst continues its dedication to safeguarding by offering training under a refreshed title: the Safeguarding and Safe Ministry Workshop. This updated name reflects the Diocese’s ongoing commitment to creating and maintaining safe communities for all, especially children and vulnerable people, within our parishes and ministries.

These workshops build on the essential safeguarding practices that clergy, staff, volunteers, and parishioners have come to know. While the name has changed, the core message remains the same: every person has the right to feel safe and respected in our Church communities.

The workshops are tailored to reflect the unique needs of our Diocese, incorporating relevant case studies, current best practices, and a renewed theological foundation for our shared responsibility in ministry.

It is strongly encouraged that everyone in parish life participates. Parish priests are asked to promote the workshops and encourage attendance where appropriate. Find out more here.
