Each year, Catholics around the world are invited to support Peter’s Pence, a longstanding tradition that expresses our unity with the Holy Father and our commitment to the Church’s mission.
More than a financial collection, Peter’s Pence is a tangible sign of our communion with the Pope. Through these voluntary offerings, Catholics support the Holy Father’s ministry of proclaiming the Gospel, responding to humanitarian crises and assisting those most in need throughout the world.
The annual collection is traditionally taken up on or around the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul on 29 June. It provides an opportunity for the faithful to join with Catholics across the world in supporting the ministry of the Successor of St Peter.
Peter’s Pence supports the Pope’s pastoral mission throughout the universal Church while also providing practical assistance to people affected by poverty, war, natural disasters and other emergencies. Every gift, regardless of its size, helps continue the Church’s mission of bringing the hope and love of Christ to those in need.
As we celebrate the witness of Saints Peter and Paul, may we also renew our commitment to the universal Church through prayer and generosity.
Parishioners can support Peter’s Pence through the leaving collection at all Masses this weekend or by making a donation online.
