In this Jubilee Year of 2025, the Diocese of Bathurst warmly invites all the faithful to a special pilgrimage to St John’s Church, Baradine, on Saturday, 20 September 2025. This sacred event is part of the wider Jubilee celebration declared by Pope Francis under the theme Pilgrims of Hope. It offers a rich opportunity for prayer, reflection, and the reception of the Jubilee Indulgence.
By prayerfully visiting these sacred places of pilgrimage, celebrating Mass and Holy Communion, receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and praying for the intentions of the Holy Father, pilgrims may obtain a Jubilee Indulgence in accordance with the Holy See’s guidelines.
Day of Pilgrimage to Baradine – Program Highlights
The pilgrimage day at Baradine is designed to guide pilgrims gently through moments of personal prayer, sacramental grace, and communal worship:
- 9:00am – Church opens for private prayer
– The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available in The Convent building - 10:30am – Celebration of Mass
- 11:15am – Morning Tea
- 11:45am – Pilgrims to experience their own self journey in the area
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, followed by private prayer and reflection and continued availability of the Sacrament of Reconciliation in The Convent building - 12:45pm – Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament
- 1:00pm – Shared BYO picnic lunch
- 2:30pm – Recent overseas pilgrims to share their stories
- 3:00pm – Additional opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Pilgrims to experience their own self journey in the area , Afternoon Tea
- 4:00pm – Rosary in the Church, focusing on the Joyful Mysteries, as recommended by Pope Francis for the Jubilee
- 5:00pm – Celebration of Mass

Pilgrims are encouraged to visit the three designated pilgrimage sites within the Diocese:
