On 20 September, pilgrims from across the Diocese of Bathurst gathered in Baradine to mark the Jubilee Year 2025 under the theme Pilgrims of Hope.

As one of the Diocese’s designated pilgrimage sites, St John’s Church in Baradine welcomed people from near and far for a day of prayer, reflection and connection. The celebration included Mass with Bishop Michael McKenna, quiet time for contemplation, Reconciliation, and shared meals that fostered community among parishes.

Pilgrims also heard from Jo Taylor, who recently walked from Rome to Assisi as part of her own Jubilee pilgrimage.

The Baradine gathering offered a moment of renewal for all involved, reminding us of the grace and unity found in journeying together in faith.

Upcoming Jubilee Pilgrimages

The Diocesan Jubilee journey continues with two more opportunities to gather:

• Bathurst – Saturday 1 November
  Mass will be celebrated by Bishop McKenna at the Chapel of Holy Family School, Kelso, at 11am, followed by a walk for those who are able into Bathurst, concluding at the Cathedral of St Michael and St John.

• Carcoar – Sunday 7 December
  Please mark your diaries for a pilgrimage to the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Carcoar—another Jubilee site of grace and prayer in our Diocese.
