The Chrism Mass on Monday 30 March 2026 at 5.45pm brought together people from across the Diocese of Bathurst for an important Holy Week celebration.
It was encouraging to see a large number of parishioners and clergy gathered. In a central moment of the Mass, the priests of the Diocese renewed their priestly vows, recommitting themselves to their ministry and service to the Church.
The day also included time for the priests to meet with Bishop McKenna before the Mass. This provided an opportunity for discussion and support. After the liturgy, priests shared a meal together, strengthening their sense of fraternity.
The Chrism Mass is a reminder of the unity of the diocesan community and the role of priests in serving the people of God.
As we continue through Holy Week, we ask all to pray for our priests as they carry out their ministry.
