At the conclusion of last weekend’s Masses in Stuart Town, Wellington and Yeoval, Bishop McKenna announced that, after Christmas, Father Carl Mackander would retire as Parish Priest of Wellington. He will then become Pastor Emeritus and reside in Mudgee.

The Bishop paid tribute to the devoted pastoral care that Father Carl had given to the people of Wellington over the past decade; and, before that, across the parishes of our Diocese in the 48 years since he was ordained. It has been nourished and strengthened by his life of prayer, which will continue to benefit the Church.

Father Greg Kennedy, who is Vicar Forane for the western region, will take on the responsibility of Administrator of Wellington for now, with the assistance of Father Cong Van Hoang and Deacon Ha Van Tran.

May the prayers of Our Lady of Yeoval, St John the Baptist and St Patrick accompany the priests and people of the parish.
