World Youth Day 2027 Pilgrimage to Seoul, South Korea – Pilgrimage Dates TBC

World Youth Day (WYD) is a global gathering of young Catholics from around the world, united with the Holy Father in celebration of faith, prayer, and community. Held approximately every three years in a different country, the next World Youth Day will take place in Seoul, South Korea from 3–8 August 2027.

More than a trip, World Youth Day is a pilgrimage—an opportunity to encounter Jesus Christ, grow in faith, and experience the Church alive alongside millions of young Catholics from every nation.

The most recent international WYD was celebrated in Lisbon, Portugal on 1-6 August 2023. Read all about our diocesan pilgrimage to WYD23 below:

RISE Bathurst Youth Pilgrimage to WYD 2023

Our Pilgrimage to South Korea

Our pilgrimage will begin in Gyeongju, where we plan to join Welcome to Paradise — an international Catholic youth festival hosted by the Chemin Neuf Community. Pilgrims from around the world will gather for prayer, formation, music, community, and cultural experiences.

From there, we will travel to Seoul for the official World Youth Day celebrations. Pilgrims will join millions of young people from across the globe for catechesis, prayer, cultural events, the Papal Vigil, and the Closing Mass with the Holy Father.

What Is Included?

The indicative pilgrimage price is $3,990 per person. This includes return international flights from Australia, accommodation, travel insurance, official World Youth Day registration and pilgrim pack, and participation in Welcome to Paradise and World Youth Day celebrations in Seoul.

Please note: this is an indicative price only and is subject to final confirmation.

The Pilgrimage Begins Now

Our journey will begin well before departure. In the lead-up to World Youth Day, pilgrims are expected to take part in formation gatherings, online sessions, retreats, pilgrimage walks, fundraising opportunities, prayer, and community events.

These opportunities will help us prepare not only for travel, but for a deeper encounter with Jesus Christ and one another. As a diocesan group, we will walk together in faith from Bathurst to Seoul.

Who Can Join?

This pilgrimage is open to young adults aged 18–30s in 2027.

Whether you are finishing school, taking a gap year, studying, working, or simply looking for your next step, World Youth Day is an opportunity to be part of a global gathering of young Catholics and to discover more deeply where Christ is calling you.
