Recently, new and returning SRE catechists gathered in Bathurst and Dubbo for training days designed to develop their skills and confidence in delivering Special Religious Education in schools. These sessions provided valuable insights into classroom management, using the curriculum effectively, child protection, and understanding and living out both the Diocesan and Department of Education Codes of Conduct.
The days were relaxed and filled with laughter, collaboration and shared wisdom, with fantastic input from Vince, Jackie, Vicki and Chris. Their guidance and experience helped set a strong foundation for SRE in 2025, ensuring catechists feel well-equipped and supported in their mission.
SRE is a vital ministry where lives are changed because Jesus is proclaimed. If you are interested in becoming an SRE catechist and making a difference in young lives, we encourage you to speak with your parish priest.
