Young people across the Diocese of Bathurst are being encouraged to step forward and say ‘YES’
to two national gatherings of faith, joy and mission in 2025.
The Diocese is inviting expressions of interest for both the
Ignite Conference in Sydney (July) and the Australian Catholic Youth Festival (ACYF) in Melbourne (November–December).
These events are open to youth aged from Year 9 to 25yo, offering a space to encounter Christ,
grow in leadership and experience the vibrant life of the Church.

Ignite Conference once again is coming to Sydney. Celebrating 25 years of ministry, this event gathers hundreds of Catholic young people for four days of worship, music, sacraments, preaching and powerful prayer.
The theme this year is “The Light” – a call to step out in faith and encounter the living Christ in a new and personal way.
Whether you’re new to the faith or already deeply engaged, Ignite Sydney is a joyful, welcoming and transforming experience. Youth groups, school teams and families are all invited to participate.

ACYF is the flagship gathering of the Catholic Church in Australia for young people. Thousands will come together from every state and diocese for three days of prayer, formation, creativity and celebration.
From high-energy plenaries and live concerts to Eucharistic Adoration and rich discussions on faith, justice and discipleship, ACYF offers something for everyone.
As Archbishop Peter Comensoli of Melbourne has said:
“ACYF invites young people to discover hope, confidence and growth – and to know they truly belong in the life of the Church.”

Parishes, schools and families are asked to begin considering which young people they can support to attend. Nominate your youth now and join a diocesan group travelling together to these events.
The Diocesan Youth Office will support with logistics, group leadership, preparation and fundraising.
