Workplace Giving in action
The Priests’ Retirement Fund through the generosity of individuals like you, provides the financial support to care for the retired and sick priests of our Diocese.
Most of our Diocesan priests work long into their seventies, caring for the spiritual life and welfare of their people. They give without counting the cost and sometimes that can include a cost to their health. Even in retirement, most priests will continue to serve the community, in particular by celebrating weekend Masses in parishes and assisting as chaplains in aged care facilities.
The Priests’ Retirement Fund covers needs such as convalescent care, nursing home and hostel care for frail priests, assistance in transitioning to retirement, health insurance, medical and dental expenses and assistance with board and lodging.
The Cathedral of St Michael and St John is our Diocesan cathedral, standing in the heart of the Central West of NSW as a Christian statement of grace and beauty and a place of pilgrimage since 1857.
Generations of local artisans have contributed their work in stone and glass – creating a unique space for solace and prayer for our local parish community as well as our visitors from other parishes.
Donations to this fund provide the necessary support for the Diocese to repay loans taken out to complete the interior renovations and landscape enhancements.
The generations before us have built and cared for this place, now it is our turn.

Caritas is Compassion in Action
Working together for justice and dignity. Building together a better future for all.
We are inspired by the Gospel which finds its expression in Catholic Social Traditions.
Jesus returned as a young adult to his home town of Nazareth (Luke 4: 16-30). He had just returned from forty days in the desert, a time of encounter with both darkness and light. He chose light. Coming home, he knew this meant a fresh way of understanding himself and the world. He was to be an agent for change, for loving relationships. He had a vision of freedom. It is a vision we share, one of justice, dignity and hope.
Your donation to the Cathedral Restoration Fund, Centacare, Priests’ Retirement Fund, Catholic Mission or Caritas will be identified separately for easy claiming at tax return time
