The Cathedral Parish will host an exhibition featuring the relics of Carlo Acutis, affectionately known as the “Saint in the Blue Jeans.” Carlo, born in 1991 and hailed from Milan, is nearing canonization following Vatican approval of two miraculous healings attributed to his intercession.
Carlo’s devotion and miraculous interventions have inspired believers worldwide. Notably, a Brazilian boy was cured of a congenital pancreatic disease, and a young woman recovered from severe head trauma after asking for the intercession of Carlo. Carlo’s relics, including strands of hair, will be on display at the Cathedral Parish Centre from July 12th to 14th.
In addition to the relics, an international photographic exhibition will showcase Carlo’s life’s work—documenting 140 miracles of the Eucharist from twenty-two countries. Carlo began this collection at the age of eleven, demonstrating divine intervention and affirming the presence of God. His unwavering faith has earned him the title “God’s Young Influencer.”
Carlo Acutis was a typical teenager who enjoyed PlayStation, Pokémon, hiking, and caring for his pets. His exceptional talent in computers and his love for animals reflected his deep admiration for Saint Francis. He also harboured a passion for soccer, supporting AC Milan, his hometown team.
Carlo’s generosity towards the less fortunate, often using his pocket money to buy food and essentials for those in need, touched many lives. His funeral in Assisi drew an overwhelming crowd, underscoring his profound impact on his community.
The exhibition aims to inspire young people by presenting a modern-day saint who navigated the challenges of contemporary life while nurturing a deep faith in Jesus. Carlo’s influence continues to resonate globally, particularly among the youth, positioning him as a significant figure in the future of the Church.
