Bishop McKenna has announced the appointment of Father Greg Bellamy PP as Episcopal Vicar for Evangelisation and Mission in the Diocese of Bathurst. He will carry out this new duty in addition to his assignment as parish priest of Orange.

Episcopal Vicars assist the Bishop in governance of the Diocese, either generally or in specific ways. Father Paul Devitt is our Vicar General, but also with particular responsibility for Catholic Education. Father Greg Kennedy is Vicar with responsibility for Clergy.

The Bishop said that “In making this appointment, I am affirming the centrality of the mission of communicating the Good News which Christ entrusted to his Church; and our responsibility to discern and carry out what that means in practice for our particular church.
It also acknowledges the vision, perseverance and practical wisdom that Father Greg has already demonstrated in awakening this sense of mission in his parish.
