Catholic Church Insurance (CCI) has made the difficult decision to advise the Insurance Regulator (APRA) of its intention to commence a “run-off”, or winding down.

This means that CCI will not write any new business, and will not renew existing policies when they come up for renewal. They will, however, continue to honour claims made under existing policies.

The Catholic Diocese of Bathurst is in the process of selecting a new insurer to ensure continuity of appropriate cover for all our policies including Workers’ Compensation, Public Liability, Employee Practices, Property, Motor Vehicle, Directors and Officers etc.

We continue to be committed to responding with justice and compassion to victims and survivors of abuse in the Diocese, as we have done for many years, and this announcement will not impact that commitment.

We keep in our prayers the employees and board of CCI, who no doubt have experienced great distress, anxiety and sadness at this announcement.
