In his 2015 Encyclical on the environment and human ecology, Laudato Si, Pope Francis critiqued consumerism and irresponsible development, lamented environmental degradation and global warming, and called all people of the world to take “swift and unified global action.

Now, eight years on, the Holy Father has plans to add to his Laudato Si message, recognising new and emerging issues of importance.
