2024 has started in a big way.

Our Diocesan Youth Ministry had its first big gathering of the year. RISEN occurred over the weekend 22-24th March at Shalom House of Prayer, finishing on Palm Sunday with Mass at the Cathedral of St Michael and St John, Bathurst.

RISEN is a time of leadership formation, where those in Yr10 – Yr12 spend time reflecting on who Jesus is to them, as well as learning new skills in leading others and having fun!

This year we were blessed to have many RISE Alumni join us to assist with activities and share the Joy of the Gospel with all present. Our Youth Ministers did a great job walking with all the participants and ensuring everything ran well. We also had Emily, Hugh, Tom, Patrick and Alistair leading the Worship, which added so much to the time together.

The annual “Seminarian versus Rise Youth” soccer match was held on Palm Sunday. The victors for 2024 were Rise Youth. Congratulations!!

The RISE DeoQuest team was present, with Natalia and Rosario leading sessions on the questions we all have about God, as well as a session run by Fr Michel Remery on the Bible. 

The Reconciliation night was also a highlight for all present.

RISEN was once again a chance to go deeper in an encounter with Jesus and we are grateful to all who came and helped this to be the biggest RISEN ever.
