On Friday 12 April, prior to the Ordination to the Priesthood of Deacon Cong and Deacon Duong, fifteen SRE Catechists from around the Diocese gathered at the Chancery to enjoy afternoon tea, borrow resources, be recognised for their ministry and to share their experiences of teaching SRE. Those new to SRE were able to find out more about the ministry from more experienced SRE Catechists.
It was wonderful to hear why SRE Catechists volunteer to teach students in Public Schools in our Diocese:
“I love the thought of sharing my faith with little ones, and to see the glow on their little faces as they learn how much they are loved”
Vera, Lithgow
“The children brighten my day, renew my faith and give me hope for the future”
Terry, Bathurst
“I love being an SRE Catechist because of sharing God’s love with His children. It has enhanced my faith and learning”
Marie, Lithgow
“My faith and relationship with our Lord brings me much joy, and I love having the opportunity to share it with young students. I ask Jesus to guide and speak through me and help me to show His love to the children”
Ann, Cowra
