Pastor Emeritus, Father Patrick Ruane, died at Bathurst Base Hospital on 21st December 2023, at the age of 87 years.
Father Pat faithfully served the Diocese of Bathurst for 63 years, having arrived in Australia on 3rd December 1960 following his ordination at All Hallows, Dublin on 19th June of that year.
Over those years Father Pat was Assistant Priest, Parish Priest and Associate Pastor, serving in the parishes of Canowindra, Cowra, Gilgandra, Bathurst, Orange, Coonamble and Dubbo.
He also spent seven years on loan from the Diocese working in Papua New Guinea. Father Pat moved to Bathurst after he retired in 2018.
May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

in the Cathedral of St Michael and St John,
cnr William and Keppel Streets, Bathurst
