Sheahan students on mission in Sri Lanka

A group of students from James Sheahan Catholic High School in Orange are about to set off on an immersion experience of a lifetime.

From 23rd September to 9th October, Eloise Beath, Claudia Kay, Olivia Cargill, Molly Lynch, Jessica Carman, Joseph Miller, Sarah Cohen, April Rich, Caitlin Doulman, Rianna Ruming, Hannah Ferguson, Melanie Ryan Isabella, Hewitt Brooke Tilston and Oliver Hopkins, accompanied by teachers Amy Denford, Peter Meers and Robyn Stevens, will be in Sri Lanka.

During their stay, the group will be visiting schools run by the De La Salle order in Colombo and Mannar in the Tamil, north of Sri Lanka; an area profoundly affected by the past Sri Lankan civil war. While there, they will teach lessons to primary aged children will be staying in accommodation funded by the Lasallian Foundation of Australia.

The students and teachers received a special blessing from Parish Priest, Father Garry McKeown at a recent Parish Youth Mass.
