This week two groups of students commenced a Cultural Program with Tim Naden from Goanna Woodworks. The Goanna Woodworks program is about sharing knowledge, empowering others and building relationships through art, woodwork, yarning and laughter.
Our Year 7/8 group started working on their personal artwork, telling their own stories using Aboriginal symbols that will be created on their very own possum skin which they received.
Our Year 9/10 group selected their own raw Didgeridoo and commenced cleaning and preparing them ready for personal artwork in the coming weeks.
All these students will get to keep their pieces and we look forward to seeing their final pieces and hearing their stories. Our school is very grateful to have Tim on board and looks forward to working together in the future when more students will get the chance to participate in this amazing program.
