School Sport Australia Athletics Nationals Adelaide 23-25 November

Holy Family School Kelso has a newly crowned National Athletics Silver Medallist! Year 6 student Ethan Ivory has returned from the 2012 Nationals in Adelaide with an individual Silver Medal. Ethan was representing in the NSW State Team and competed in the 11 Years Boys 800m event. He gained his way to this highest level of representation through the NSW Catholic Schools Polding Team.

Ethan finished well ahead of third place and only 2 sec behind the Gold Medallist from Queensland. In gaining a Silver Medal he set a new NSW age record of 2:13.5 shaving 2 seconds off the old record.

Ethan was also selected in the Age Medley Relay where he ran the 300m leg for the NSW team. NSW finished with the Bronze Medal and the team being very proud of this effort.

"In the lead up time, Ethan completed a rigorous training program in preparation for the National Title", said school principal, Mr Kevin Arrow.

"Ethan has been an excellent school representative in 2012 and his achievements have been a just reward for his training and enthusiasm with athletics," he said.
